What is the Sfere French EduCare foundation programme?
Sfere is a 10-month foundation programme based in France designed for SPM and IGCSE O-Level holders. The first phase focuses on intensive French language learning to reach B2 level, combined with academic preparation in mathematics, physics and computing. The second phase transitions to university-level academic content taught in French. On completion, students gain guaranteed progression to over 20 French public universities.
Do I need to speak French before joining the Sfere programme?
No prior French is required. The programme begins with intensive French language training from beginner or elementary level. Students are expected to reach B1–B2 level by the end of the foundation year, which is sufficient for French university admission. The language training is structured and immersive, with teaching conducted by experienced French-language educators.
What degrees can I study after completing the Sfere programme?
Sfere graduates are eligible to enter engineering, computer science, life sciences, agronomy and environmental science programmes at over 20 French public universities and grandes écoles. These include programmes in civil engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, biotechnology and more. French public university fees are among the lowest in Europe at EUR 170–601 per year.
How long does it take to complete a full degree through Sfere?
The Sfere foundation year takes 10 months, followed by a 3-year bachelor's degree (Licence) or a 5-year engineering degree (Master's level) at a French public university. In total, students can complete a French master's equivalent qualification in approximately 5.5–6 years from SPM level — competitive with equivalent programmes in the UK or Ireland.
